Adding A (Not So Little) Sparkle in My Life

"New Year, New Me," right? Well, not maybe a new me, but I am hoping to actually update my blog instead of just leaving it here to collect dust. Internet dust, if thats even possible. The last post I wrote was about how summer is ending. Has 4 months really gone by that quick!?  This Fall semester consisted of many adventures! Road trips, hiking, bonfires, and the Christmas Devotional! We sat rows away from the prophet. It was the coolest experience ever! But also, in those 4 months, I've successfully completed 17 credits while working a part time job, held an awesome calling in my ward and made many wonderful friends. My brother returned from his mission and going back to California mid October was hard. I had NO motivation to finish the semester whatsoever. But I am beyond proud of myself for sticking to it and finishing strong. I don't think I could have made it through finals week without my best friends and support. Relentless studying with Kelsey drained me, but next semester will be so much better when we are actually living together again! Karli, Payton, Kelsey and I will room together once and for all. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to live with these girls. Say what?! Yup. You definitely read that right! I am ENGAGED! While I love calling Conrad my fiancĂ©, the stress of wedding planning is already upon me. So its not so unfortunate after all. I am so grateful for my friendship with these girls! But I am so beyond excited for this new, huge and best step in my life! So I guess I will give you the mushy details of it all.

Conrad and I started ring shopping in June/July of 2014. We weren't too seriously looking at first. (Well he wasn't) But I found myself picking out the same ring at every store we went to. Finally, October came around and we were both way more serious of picking a ring. So we looked and we looked. Everything is so expensive! Finally in November, right before Thanksgiving break we went to Kay Jewelers. Not really finding what I wanted I asked Conrad when he was going to just buy one already. His response was not a total surprise, but not what I expected. He told me that he will buy a ring when I finally find one that I like. I also loved the sound of that! So break ended a little early because work got in the way. Baylee and I went to Jensen Jewelers in Rexburg where they give 50% off for students. (SCORE!) I had been in the store a couple times but never really thought of buying a ring there. Within minutes of walking in I found a BEAUTIFUL ring with a really good price. I took pictures and called Conrad as soon as I could. He let me know he would go find it and see what he could do that following Monday. Surprises are never easy for me. The minute I know something is happening, I have to know every single detail of what is planned! So Conrad made a huge story of how the ring wasn't there and blah blah blah. I totally believed him because the story made perfect sense! Obvi I wasn't too happy about it at all.

Friday, December 12th we had gone and gotten dinner. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. We were sitting on his couch watching New Girl. Conrad suggests we go get Hot Chocolate. Without even thinking I hopped up and put my shoes on. My love for hot chocolate is indescribable. So we were driving and I mentioned getting a movie to rent. Conrad shut the idea down and suggested we take a drive. We always use to get Hot Chocolate and drive around. There are a couple spots where we would park and talk, drink our hot chocolate and then go home. So as we are driving to this specific spot I was reminiscing of the last Winter when we would always get hot chocolate. We parked and left the car running. Conrad was looking out the window and said, "What is that down there? A field??" I looked over and rudely said, "Obviously, what else would it be?" He tried to convince me to get out of the car and walk with him. It was cold though, I didn't want to get out. Finally, I got out and asked him why the car lights were still on. He just ignored it and picked up a rock and through it into the field. So I joined him. After throwing a couple rocks he took both of my hands and said, "I love you." Thats when it all clicked for me. He was proposing! He lied about not having the ring at all! So I started nervously laughing. I always thought how I would react in this situation and now I know. I just laugh. How dumb right? I feel his left hand try to slip away and I just hold on tighter. IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?! It can't be! So I let his hand go, I see him reach into his pocket and open the box to the most beautiful ring I could ever ask for!

"Morgan McKenna Jensen, Will you marry me?" I was in shock. I just laughed and laughed. I still didn't believe that this was actually happening. Is this real life?? I was shaking, mostly because I was cold but also because I was nervous. Of course I said YES! I have never smiled so much in my life! I still am having a hard time believing that this is actually happening! I love this boy so much!
I've always loved my last name but, I cannot wait to make the switch from a Jensen to a Boyer!
